It has been increasingly utilised for the diagnosis of sarcoidosis and unexplained mediastinal adenopathy, and for lung cancer staging. Complications from EBUS-TBNA are rare. Complications that have been reported are haemorrhages, pneumothorax, infectious complications like mediastinitis, pleuropericarditis, abscess, respiratory failure, airway injury and hypotension.
