The Chief Editor, publisher and author wish to retract the articles mentioned above (published in the September 2012, September 2013, December 2013 and March 2014 issues of Breathe).
These articles have been found to contain portions of text that have been copied verbatim from other previously published sources, both with and without attribution to the original sources.
Breathe is a journal member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and, in retracting these articles, has acted in accordance with the guidelines of COPE.
The author is in agreement with the outcome of this process, and apologises to the readers of Breathe.
