ERS HERMES examinations

Embedded Image

The ERS HERMES examinations in adult or paediatric respiratory medicine aim to set a common, high standard of knowledge amongst respiratory specialists and trainees within Europe. Successful candidates obtain the ERS HERMES European Diploma, which certifies excellence of respiratory specialists within Europe and around the world. Alternatively, individuals can sit the In-training or Self-assessment category of the examination to enable them to benchmark their knowledge and identify areas of focus for professional development.

Register now for the upcoming examination in Paris, September 15, 2018.

Registration is open until July 1, 2018.

ERS Monograph: Edited by Paolo Palange, Pierantonio Laveneziana, J. Alberto Neder and Susan A. Ward

In the last 10 years, the use of clinical exercise testing in respiratory medicine has grown significantly and, if used in the appropriate context, it has been demonstrated to provide clinically useful and relevant information. However, as its implementation and interpretation can be complicated, it should be used alongside previous medical evaluation (including medical history, physical examination and other appropriate complementary tests) and should be interpreted with the results of these additional tests in mind. This timely ERS Monograph aims to provide a comprehensive update on the contemporary uses of exercise testing to answer clinically relevant questions in respiratory medicine. The book covers: equipment and measurements; exercise testing in adults and children; cardiac diseases; interstitial lung disease; pulmonary vascular disease; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; pre-surgical testing; and much more.

A wide range of ERS books, including the ERS Monographs, ERS Handbooks and European Lung White Book, are available online at www.ersbookshop.com and www.erspublications.com
