Osadnik Y1 - 2018/09/01 UR - http://breathe.ersjournals.com/content/14/3/243.abstract N2 - In 2018, Australia's population of approximately 25 million people is serviced by almost 32 000 registered physiotherapists [1]. Physiotherapists in Australia traditionally obtain their qualification via a 4-year, full-time equivalent undergraduate professional degree. This typically involves 2 or 3 years of full-time, university-based education followed by full-time clinical education, during which the student is immersed in real-world clinical training under the supervision of physiotherapy clinicians.I wish to thank Prue Morgan, head of Monash University Department of Physiotherapy, for her assistance to accurately describe physiotherapy regulations in Australia and for critical revision of the final manuscript.
