TB controlStrategy aimed at reducing the incidence of TB infection and, consequently, of TB disease, based on early diagnosis and treatment of infectious cases of TB. Fewer and fewer people in the community will be newly exposed to the contact with the bacilli and will develop the disease
EliminationPoint at which less than one infectious (sputum smear positive) case per 1,000,000 inhabitants emerges annually in the general population or when the prevalence of TB in general population is below 1% and continues to decrease.
