Nebulizer cleaning and disinfection practices in families with cystic fibrosis: The relationship between attitudes, practice and microbe colonization
2019, Journal of Cystic FibrosisCitation Excerpt :Surveys of CF patients show that most are aware of the importance of home nebulizer maintenance and the potential for germs to spread via aerosol [9,10]. However, patient adherence to recommended cleaning and disinfection practices is highly variable worldwide, ranging from 15% to 90% [9,11–14]. There are multiple reasons that likely contribute to difficulties following the CFF IP&C guidelines for home nebulizer care.
